Senior Network Engineer / Consultant – Networking, Automation & AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Strategize and manage highly reliable networks for retail infrastructure across the nation.

• Deploy comprehensive WLAN setups with NAC and 802.1X tailored for energy providers.

• Assist in transitioning to SD-WAN networks utilizing Cisco Viptela/Catalyst SD-WAN or Fortinet.

• Investigate network-stack incidents for manufacturing firms with international operations.

• Coordinate AI agents with n8n to streamline repetitive networking tasks.

• Establish and oversee a Network Source of Truth using NetBox or Nautobot.

• Construct, modify, and manage intricate WAN, LAN, and WLAN frameworks.

• Carry out migrations and implementations transitioning from conventional networks to SDN methodologies.

• Direct AI agents, offer detailed instructions, and verify their results.

• Diagnose and analyze logs to pinpoint performance bottlenecks.

• Conduct incident, change, and problem management following ITIL best practices.

• Create and document network designs, SOPs, and operational models.

• Provide guidance on emerging technologies, including vendor assessments and technology roadmaps.

• Take on partial project responsibilities as desired.

⛳️ Requirements

• CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE certification along with extensive hands-on experience across various architectures and technical orchestrations.

• Strong analytical skills for assessing AI outputs, with accountability for results produced by agents.

• Expertise in WAN: routing, MPLS, IPsec, DMVPN, SD-WAN, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP.

• Proficiency in LAN: switching, VLANs and trunking (802.1Q), port security, STP, CDP/LLDP.

• Knowledge of WLAN: WPA2/WPA3, WLAN controllers, 802.11ac/ax/be (Wi-Fi 5/6/6E/7).

• Familiarity with VPN technologies: IPsec, IKEv1/v2, TLS-based VPNs, and remote-access concepts.

• Skills in troubleshooting and analysis using tools like Wireshark, tcpdump, and Packet Tracer.

• Understanding of REST APIs, SNMP, Syslog, NetFlow, YAML/JSON, and tools such as Postman or Bruno.

• Proficient in German at C1 level or higher.

• Proficient in English at B1/B2 level or higher.

• Eagerness to learn and pursue ongoing professional development.
