Senior Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +21 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design and architecture of SD-WAN solutions for enterprise clients, developing scalable and robust network infrastructures.

• Architect, implement, and manage SASE solutions utilizing platforms such as Cato Networks, Fortinet, Versa Networks, and Cisco Meraki.

• Implement and manage the Cato SASE Cloud Platform to ensure secure global networking and facilitate Zero Trust Network Access.

• Configure and enhance Fortinet Secure SD-WAN and SASE solutions, including FortiGate firewalls and FortiSASE.

• Deploy the Versa SASE Platform, integrating SD-WAN, security, and cloud access functionalities.

• Implement and oversee Cisco Meraki cloud-managed SASE solutions, including MX security appliances with embedded SD-WAN.

• Craft secure remote access solutions leveraging SASE architecture for distributed workforces.

• Mentor and provide technical direction to managed services engineers, imparting best practices and expertise.

• Integrate UCaaS solutions, including MetaSwitch platforms, with enterprise networks.

• Apply Zero Trust security frameworks across SASE deployments.

• Develop and maintain network automation scripts and protocols.

• Offer advanced engineering support and act as a technical escalation resource.

• Produce comprehensive technical documentation, runbooks, and training resources.

• Collaborate with Command|POD teams to ensure compliance with 100% uptime SLA.

• Conduct network assessments and formulate cloud-first transformation strategies.

• Spearhead network transformation initiatives from traditional architectures to SASE/SD-WAN solutions.

• Assume additional responsibilities and projects as necessary to contribute to the team's and organization's success.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7-10 years of experience in enterprise network engineering within managed services environments.

• Strong background in SD-WAN design and architecture, with a demonstrated history of successful enterprise deployments.

• Expert knowledge of SASE and SD-WAN technologies.

• Familiarity with the Cato Networks SASE Cloud Platform.

• Proficient in Fortinet FortiGate, FortiManager, and FortiSASE.

• Experience with the Versa Networks Unified SASE Platform.

• Knowledge of the Cisco Meraki full stack (MX, MS, MR) with SD-WAN capabilities.

• In-depth understanding of SASE architecture, including ZTNA, CASB, SWG, and FWaaS.

• Strong expertise in network security, encompassing NGFW, IPS/IDS, and Zero Trust architectures.

• Proficiency in routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and switching technologies.

• Experience in cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) and multi-cloud connectivity.

• Familiarity with UCaaS platforms, especially MetaSwitch.

• Proven capability to mentor and enhance the technical skills of fellow engineers.

• Solid comprehension of QoS, traffic shaping, and WAN optimization.

• Automation abilities using Python, Ansible, or similar tools.

• Experience with RESTful APIs and network programmability.

• Strong troubleshooting capabilities utilizing packet capture and analysis tools.

• Relevant certifications are highly desirable (CCNP, Fortinet NSE, Cisco Meraki, Versa, Cato).

• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage directly with clients.

• Experience in MSP/managed services settings.

• Capability to work independently in a remote setting with minimal oversight.
