Senior Network and Systems Administrator – Firewall

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary escalation point for intricate customer and help desk challenges, ensuring prompt resolution.

• Oversee infrastructure monitoring and provide reports on health, traffic, performance, vulnerabilities, and trends to management.

• Assess and enhance existing systems to boost efficiency, scalability, and dependability.

• Design and document workflows, system diagrams, and operational procedures to ensure alignment between IT and business objectives.

• Develop solutions that balance innovation with financial and resource limitations.

• Plan and execute enterprise network security measures, which include firewall management, VPN configuration, host security, file permissions, and system integrity.

• Manage the user lifecycle encompassing provisioning, de-provisioning, and access control across systems.

• Provide technical support and guidance to help desk, NOC, and Engineering teams.

• Lead the onboarding process and IT orientation for new hires.

• Research, evaluate, and implement new technologies.

• Assess and define client hardware needs and project scopes.

• Innovatively address problems within the constraints of available financial resources.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical work experience.

• More than 5 years of progressive experience in network and systems administration, including help desk escalation and infrastructure support.

• Familiarity with Sophos, Cisco Meraki, Fortinet, and Unify firewalls.

• In-depth knowledge of Active Directory, enterprise domain controllers, group policy management, Microsoft Azure, DNS, Microsoft integrations, Office 365, and hybrid cloud environments.

• Comprehensive understanding of network security, firewalls, VPNs, routers, WAN/LAN, ACL, intrusion detection/prevention, and endpoint protection.

• Extensive experience in enterprise-scale software deployments, patch management, and automation frameworks.

• High proficiency in PC systems, enterprise applications, and IT management tools.

• Exceptional communication skills for translating technical challenges into business implications.

• A dedication to continuous learning and staying abreast of emerging technologies.

• Preferably knowledgeable in Microsoft 365 Admin Center, Exchange, Azure, Identity, RMM tools, backup tools, patching tools, network monitoring tools, and AI tools.

• Advantageous: Experience with SolArc, advanced PowerShell automation, IT certifications, and experience in the hospitality industry.
