Senior .NET Engineer – Azure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and resolve complex P1/P2 incidents impacting Azure-hosted .NET applications and integrations.

• Deliver in-depth technical troubleshooting across application, infrastructure, and platform layers.

• Examine issues related to Azure App Services, AKS, networking, identity, storage, APIs, and background services.

• Manage escalations from L1 and L2 support teams, guiding technical resolution from the initial investigation to closure.

• Coordinate incident response efforts among Development, Infrastructure, Security, and Operational stakeholders.

• Conduct root-cause analysis for recurring incidents and significant outages utilizing logs, metrics, traces, and distributed telemetry.

• Produce clear, detailed, and executive-ready documentation for root-cause analyses.

• Configure and optimize Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, alerts, and operational dashboards.

• Oversee and enhance application performance, availability, resiliency, and operational efficiency.

• Collaborate with Development teams to identify and rectify code-level issues in C#, ASP.NET Core, REST APIs, integrations, and background services.

• Propose and apply improvements related to retry policies, circuit breakers, bulkhead isolation, caching, and asynchronous processing.

• Utilize SQL to support production investigations and confirm application or data-related findings.

• Assist with vulnerability remediation, patching, and deployment troubleshooting when necessary.

• Convey technical findings, business implications, risks, and resolution strategies to technical teams and senior stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 5 years of professional experience with C# and .NET applications, including significant production support or operational troubleshooting duties.

• Advanced experience in troubleshooting ASP.NET Core applications, REST APIs, integrations, and background services at a production scale.

• Demonstrated experience in independently managing and resolving critical P1/P2 production incidents.

• Strong practical knowledge of Azure App Services, AKS, storage, networking, and Microsoft Entra ID or Azure AD.

• Proficient in navigating the Azure Portal fluently during real-time incident investigations.

• Experience in handling escalations from L1 and L2 support teams and guiding them to resolution.

• Strong root-cause analysis skills using logs, metrics, traces, and distributed telemetry.

• Hands-on experience in configuring and tuning Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, alerts, and operational dashboards.

• Capable of diagnosing code-level issues related to performance, memory, threading, asynchronous processing, and integration failures.

• Practical experience with retry policies, circuit breakers, bulkhead isolation, caching, and asynchronous processing in distributed .NET systems.

• Intermediate to advanced SQL skills for investigating application and data-related production issues.

• Experience coordinating incident resolution across Development, Infrastructure, Security, and Support teams.

• Strong sense of ownership, composure under pressure, and resolution-oriented decision-making.

• Professional working proficiency in English, including the ability to communicate effectively in writing at an executive level.

• Experience with vulnerability remediation and security-patching workflows within Azure environments.

• Familiarity with diagnosing CI/CD and deployment failures using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.

• Experience with Docker Compose, Helm, or containerized workloads beyond basic AKS operations.

• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Bicep.

• Experience in Azure cost optimization, right-sizing, scaling policies, or reserved capacity.

• Background in supporting operational or distribution-related enterprise systems.

• Relevant Microsoft certifications such as AZ-204, AZ-400, AZ-305, AZ-500, Azure Administrator, or DevOps Engineer.

• ITIL Foundation certification or practical experience with formal incident-management processes.
