Senior Mobile App Developer, React Native

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Assume technical leadership for a new consumer video application designed for both iOS and Android platforms.

• Develop and sustain the application using React Native and TypeScript from the initial commit through to its release in app stores and subsequent updates.

• Design the application architecture within the frameworks of React Native, video functionality, content management systems (CMS), and advertising platforms.

• Create the essential video experience, prioritizing load times, seamless interactions, and the integration of native modules as necessary.

• Integrate the application with video, CMS, and advertising technologies, with assistance from the Belgrade team.

• Set benchmarks for code quality, testing procedures, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), monitoring, and release methodologies.

• Develop a playback-layer recommendation and create a prototype within the first few weeks.

• Work closely with the founding team to ensure alignment and collaboration.

• Persistently enhance the product during its live operational phase.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of three years of experience in consumer-facing application development.

• Several years in a senior or lead developer position.

• Daily, hands-on experience with AI coding agents, preferably Claude Code.

• Proven track record of launching at least one application on both iOS and Android platforms from scratch and maintaining it in a live environment.

• Proficient in React Native and TypeScript development.

• Ideally, experience with native modules in Swift and Kotlin.

• Competence in integrating third-party software development kits (SDKs).

• Experience with media-intensive applications where loading speed and smooth user interaction are essential.

• Familiarity with video streaming is advantageous.

• Knowledge of in-app purchases, subscriptions, and advertising mechanisms.

• Experience with effective server-side monetization integration.

• Understanding of user engagement and retention strategies.

• Proficient in working with backend APIs, analytics, compliance with GDPR, and navigating Apple and Google review processes.

• Ability to propose a playback layer and support the proposal with a prototype within the initial weeks.

• Capability to articulate a performance issue addressed in a media-heavy application and how AI tools contributed to the solution in the cover letter.
