Senior Microsoft 365 Engineer – Identity & Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Take ownership and manage the Microsoft 365 tenant, encompassing Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive configuration, governance, and service optimization.

• Oversee Entra ID, including identity lifecycle management, authentication, Conditional Access, MFA, PIM, privileged access, and access governance.

• Administer Intune for device configuration, compliance, application management, and endpoint security.

• Manage the capabilities of Microsoft Defender and Microsoft security policies; identify and mitigate security risks.

• Oversee Microsoft Purview functionalities, such as DLP, retention, eDiscovery, and associated compliance controls.

• Develop and maintain PowerShell and Microsoft Graph automation to enhance administration efficiency and minimize manual tasks.

• Establish and uphold Microsoft 365 governance standards, licensing, configuration baselines, and continuous improvement efforts.

• Independently resolve complex issues, lead technical modifications, and collaborate with infrastructure, security, and business teams to implement scalable solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5–8+ years of practical experience in a relevant field.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, Infrastructure-Networking, or a related discipline.

• Extensive expertise in Entra ID and Identity & Access Management.

• Profound working knowledge of Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Intune.

• In-depth understanding of Conditional Access, MFA, PIM, privileged access, and identity governance.

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Purview, including DLP, retention, and eDiscovery functionalities.

• Proficient in PowerShell and experienced with Microsoft Graph or Microsoft 365 automation.

• Solid understanding of Microsoft 365 security, compliance, licensing, and governance processes.

• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Capability to work autonomously and take comprehensive ownership of the Microsoft environment.
