Senior Medical Scientific Liaison, Northern Italy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Italy.

📋 Description

• Act as Acadia’s field-based scientific authority, fostering trusted relationships with healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders, centers of excellence, and patient advocacy organizations throughout Italy.

• Produce actionable field insights, pinpoint unmet needs, and assist in evidence generation, launch readiness, and lifecycle management efforts in rare neurological diseases.

• Facilitate scientific exchanges and carry out advisory boards, expert meetings, congress participation, publications, educational programs, and other medical initiatives.

• Collaborate with the country Medical Director to ensure launch excellence and effective lifecycle management by engaging stakeholders and discovering opportunities to enhance patient care and access.

• Establish strategic partnerships with national and regional experts in rare pediatric neurological disorders.

• Provide fair, balanced, and compliant medical information regarding marketed products and pipeline assets.

• Initiate and lead medical collaborations, including investigator-initiated studies, publications, educational projects, and speaker development programs.

• Represent Acadia at national and international congresses, sharing scientific trends, emerging data, and partnership opportunities internally.

• Collect, analyze, and relay insights on clinical practice, unmet needs, emerging evidence, competitor activities, and stakeholder viewpoints.

• Promote disease awareness, education, and patient-centered initiatives in conjunction with Medical Affairs leadership and patient advocacy groups.

• Provide prompt, accurate, and compliant responses to unsolicited medical information inquiries.

• Conduct medical training and ongoing scientific support for cross-functional teams.

• Collaborate with Commercial, Market Access, Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, Clinical Development, and international Medical Affairs teams.

• Stay updated on rare disease and neuroscience landscapes, treatment paradigms, clinical guidelines, emerging therapies, and stakeholder needs.


⛳️ Requirements

• An advanced scientific or medical degree, or equivalent field experience, is mandatory.

• Ideally, 5 years of relevant industry experience, including over 2 years in field-based (Sr) MSL roles within CNS/neuroscience or rare disease sectors.

• Demonstrated capability to present complex scientific data in a clear and effective manner.

• Highly organized, self-driven, and quick to adapt, with the ability to work independently and efficiently manage competing priorities.

• Collaborative, flexible, and entrepreneurial, welcoming diverse perspectives and excelling in cross-cultural teams within a rapidly expanding organization.

• Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time.

• Travel responsibilities include attending international Medical Affairs and Corporate meetings, team meetings, and national and international congresses.
