Senior Medical Science Liaison – Oncology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Serve as the main medical contact within the designated geographic area.

• Maintain in-depth clinical and scientific knowledge in oncology, particularly in locally advanced prostate cancer and other solid tumors.

• Engage in compliant scientific discussions concerning the client’s product pipeline.

• Comprehend clinical protocols, trial results, and related methodologies.

• Create and monitor KOL engagement strategies while fostering long-term collaborative partnerships.

• Involve medical and scientific communities, including advisory boards.

• Oversee and develop the assigned territory.

• Address clinical program inquiries and unsolicited medical information requests.

• Collaborate with R&D to assist clinical trial sites and investigators.

• Execute pre-launch KOL profiling and top-account/institution assessments.

• Work together with commercial colleagues on account engagement initiatives.

• Record requests for clinical information and relay KOL insights to internal teams.

• Represent the client at medical conferences and manage scientific booths.

• Participate in congresses and prepare internal reports on these events.

• Adhere to corporate SOPs and legal/regulatory standards.

• Provide medical support, clinical input, and training to internal teams.

• Communicate clinical, economic, outcome, and value information regarding products to healthcare practitioners, formulary members, and payers.


⛳️ Requirements

• An advanced degree such as PharmD, PhD, MD, MSN, or NP/PA is required.

• MSL: at least 2 years of prior MSL experience.

• MSL: a minimum of 1 year of experience in oncology and/or immunology.

• Familiarity with viral immunotherapy and gene therapy.

• Senior MSL: at least 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

• Senior MSL: a minimum of 3 years of experience in rare diseases, oncology, and/or immunology.

• Experience in genitourinary oncology is highly preferred.

• Previous product launch experience is essential.

• Strong scientific, business, and clinical insight.

• Capability to interpret and present scientific data to engage KOLs effectively.

• Working knowledge of the standards of care for prostate cancer is required.

• Experience in sharing scientific content with payer systems is highly desirable.

• Understanding of NCCN Guidelines, NCI Cooperative Groups, and Oncology Research Consortiums.

• Ability to present complex scientific, value, and evidence data to payors and/or formulary committees is necessary.

• Familiarity with institutions and clinics in the specified areas.

• Willingness to contribute beyond the assigned geographic region.

• Ability to adhere to corporate SOPs and legal and regulatory guidelines.
