This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.
• Interact with healthcare professionals, researchers, leaders of professional organizations, and decision-makers focused on population health regarding scientific and medical insights.
• Act as the main clinical and scientific resource for healthcare providers within the designated territory.
• Ensure the communication of accurate and up-to-date clinical, scientific, and medical information between KOLs/investigators and Eisai Medical Affairs and development teams.
• Build and sustain peer relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) in pertinent therapeutic fields.
• Deliver presentations on clinical, scientific, and economic data related to Eisai products and therapeutic areas.
• Support and lead designated professional congress activities, coordinating MSL/Sr. MSL coverage.
• Identify and relay scientific, clinical, and research insights gathered from KOLs.
• Develop, execute, and present Medical Affairs strategies for the assigned territory.
• Stay informed on disease states, study methodologies, clinical data, and product information.
• Serve as a technical/scientific resource for commercial personnel upon request.
• Teach, coach, and mentor newer or less experienced MSLs.
• Assist in supervising performance evaluations and lead special initiatives.
• Facilitate the review and follow-up of Investigator-Initiated Studies and aid with Eisai-sponsored trials.
• Act as the primary contact for external investigators submitting Investigator-Initiated Studies.
• Provide recommendations for site selection and scientific expertise for post-marketing studies.
• Spearhead field medical efforts with professional organizations, societies, and advocacy groups.
• Advanced, terminal Doctorate level (D-level) degree in medical or health sciences (e.g., MD, PhD, PharmD, DPH, EdD).
• For MSL: 0–3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, clinical pharmacy, research, or related scientific or clinical environments.
• For Sr. MSL: at least 3 years of MSL experience specifically in Oncology/Hematology.
• Extensive broad-based scientific and pharmaceutical knowledge.
• Familiarity with treatment guidelines, clinical research procedures, FDA regulations, and OIG guidelines.
• Knowledge and experience within Eisai’s target therapeutic areas.
• Established relationships with key opinion leaders and awareness of relevant institutions.
• Exceptional presentation and instructional skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Capacity to assess issues and engage in strategic thinking.
• Experience in cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to work autonomously while adhering to Medical Affairs strategic objectives.
• Interest and capability in coaching and mentoring less experienced MSLs.
• Ability to inspire and lead team members without direct reporting authority.
• Proficient in analyzing complex situations and resolving cross-functional challenges.
• Competent computer skills, including word processing, slide presentation, and spreadsheet software.
• Previous established relationships with KOLs in Oncology/Hematology.
• Understanding of the pharmaceutical corporate environment and commercial operations.
• Willingness to travel approximately 60% of the time, including air travel, overnight stays, and occasional weekend trips.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Ability to regularly engage in person with HCPs and other third parties.
• May need to fulfill third-party credentialing and vaccination or entry requirements.
