This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Serve as the main scientific and clinical resource for Opinion Leaders, Population Health Decision Makers, and various healthcare providers.
• Implement Amgen Medical functions and product strategies to deliver precise information and enhance patient outcomes.
• Facilitate peer-to-peer interactions with experts in obesity and related conditions, community healthcare providers, and PHDMs.
• Collaborate with clinical investigators and sites to support the obesity pipeline.
• Share clinical, outcomes, and economic data with PHDMs in designated IDNs and institutions.
• Connect both external and internal stakeholders to broaden Amgen’s influence and patient access.
• Conduct thorough scientific discussions in alignment with MSL compliance standards.
• Support Amgen-sponsored research and possibly take on the role of study lead.
• Act as a liaison with potential investigators for non-sponsored clinical research.
• Present field insights and observations to internal stakeholders.
• Lead and assist in congress activities.
• Provide training for speakers and ensure they are informed about new data.
• Lead or engage in project teams that support MSL strategies and tactics.
• Collaborate compliantly with Amgen field roles to deliver a unified One Amgen experience.
• Mentor other MSLs as appointed by MSL leadership.
• Fulfill administrative duties and training, including Veeva CRM, expense reporting, and compliance modules.
• Continuously enhance clinical and scientific knowledge and expertise with the latest data, information, and healthcare trends.
• Doctorate degree with 2 years of experience in Medical Affairs, or a Master’s degree with 6 years of experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience in Medical Affairs.
• Preferred qualifications include Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., or D.O.; other doctoral degrees may also be considered.
• Preferred to have seven or more years in a medically related field, including at least 1 year focused on clinical practice, clinical research, or medical research.
• Experience in a medically related field may encompass post-doctoral training, residencies, and/or fellowships.
• Preferred to have 2+ years of experience in a medical science liaison role within a biotech or pharmaceutical company.
• Current experience in Scientific Affairs or Medical Affairs at a biotech or pharmaceutical company is preferred.
• Expertise in cardiometabolic and/or obesity matters is preferred.
• Familiarity with the assigned territory is preferred.
• Strong skills in collaboration and communication are essential.
• Capability to establish and nurture robust relationships with external stakeholders.
• Ability to effectively communicate scientific data.
• Maintain up-to-date clinical/scientific knowledge and expertise in healthcare trends.
• Complete necessary administrative and compliance training, including Veeva CRM and expense reporting.
