
Senior Medical Science Liaison – Hepatology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders in the medical and scientific community within the designated geographic and therapeutic area.
• Provide credible clinical and scientific data along with education to clinicians, KOLs, professional societies, and payers.
• Develop and engage KOLs through scientific discussions and exchanges.
• Support company-sponsored research, investigator-initiated studies, and publications.
• Coach and assist MSLs in connecting with KOLs and formulating engagement strategies.
• Research and identify KOLs and Focus KOLs.
• Create and implement territory plans to meet KOL engagement objectives.
• Conduct independent pre-call planning for KOL interactions.
• Participate in scientific discussions with payers as necessary.
• Remain updated on scientific literature and clinical data, translating this information into applicable knowledge.
• Respond to MIRFs within designated timelines.
• Ethically disseminate clinical and scientific information regarding FDA-approved and pipeline products in a customer-focused manner.
• Gather and relay scientific and clinical insights.
• Engage in advisory board participation.
• Monitor, tag, and categorize team insights.
• Contribute to the development of scientific content and materials for various projects and initiatives.
• Independently manage projects, including planning, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and quality control.
• Coordinate with others and provide coaching to meet project objectives.
• Mentor MSLs.
• Lead the planning and reporting for congresses.
• Develop training materials utilizing instructional design techniques.
• Provide scientific and medical training and support to the MSL team and internal partners.
• Collaborate across a matrix organization with internal departments and external stakeholders.
• Report directly to the Field Director of MSLs.
• Advanced scientific degree (MD, OD, PhD, PharmD) or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or another healthcare environment, or equivalent experience.
• Preferred experience of 2+ years in a leadership role.
• Comprehensive knowledge of medicine, treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, customer strategies, FDA promotional guidelines, regulations, and ethical standards is preferred.
• Proven ability to connect and develop relationships with high-level stakeholders.
• Capability to communicate scientific content through one-on-one meetings, small group interactions, and in written form.
• Demonstrated proficiency in project management, including timelines, stakeholder management, and risk control.
• Proven ability to create and facilitate training programs.
• Experience in a mentoring capacity.
• Ability to independently research responses to scientific inquiries.
• Skill in identifying and developing effective plans for engaging KOLs within the territory.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with internal departments.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
• Prior experience in Hepatology, Nephrology, or Transplantation is preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time.
