Senior Medical Science Liaison, Global Rare Diseases

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +10 more states.

📋 Description

• Establish and nurture partnerships with esteemed community and academic medical center key opinion leaders (KOLs) in Rare Dermatology across the West Coast.

• Identify and cultivate national, regional, and local thought leaders for opportunities in medical education, clinical research, and publications.

• Develop and strengthen KOL relationships for advisory boards, company-sponsored and investigator-initiated research, as well as speaker development.

• Provide field insights to management and internal teams.

• Recognize opportunities and deliver scientific education and medical support to healthcare professionals at key institutions.

• Build professional relationships within the designated geography.

• Facilitate cross-functional engagement based on customer requirements.

• Represent Chiesi USA Medical Affairs at scientific meetings on national, regional, and local levels.

• Support company-sponsored clinical research, investigator-initiated trials, and collaborative efforts.

• Present medical education in a variety of settings.

• Collect and share competitive intelligence in compliance with company policies.

• Engage in internal therapeutic advisory groups.

• Collaborate with business partners to enhance customer experience.

• Lead and assist in internal medical projects and cross-functional initiatives.

• Contribute to clinical research, medical education materials, and internal training programs.

• Participate in monthly medical meetings, journal clubs, and team gatherings.

• Mentor and aid in the onboarding process of new team members.

• Complete documentation for field activities, expense reports, administrative reports, and required training.

• Maintain expertise in designated therapeutic areas and uphold professional licensing/certifications.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possession of a graduate-level degree such as PharmD, M.D., D.O., DNP, PhD, MSN, MS, or an equivalent healthcare professional qualification.

• Relevant clinical experience is essential.

• 5–7 years of MSL experience within the assigned rare-disease domain; exceptions for PhD candidates with the necessary experience.

• Strong strategic skills for building internal and external relationships.

• Ability to effectively collaborate within diverse, multidisciplinary teams.

• Capability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple responsibilities with minimal supervision.

• Scientific and clinical expertise in the relevant therapeutic area.

• In-depth knowledge of clinical, pharmacoeconomic, and real-world evidence, along with business acumen.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.

• Proficiency in conveying complex scientific concepts clearly to various audiences.

• Skill in providing scientifically accurate information to KOLs and healthcare professionals.

• Strong active listening and insightful questioning capabilities.

• Ability to diplomatically express expert opinions while maintaining evidence-based credibility.

• Capacity to cultivate strong internal and external working relationships.

• Willingness to travel up to 75% as required.

• Ability to maintain professional licensing/certifications.
