Senior Medical Science Liaison

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Establish, cultivate, and sustain scientific partnerships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals (HCPs), academic and healthcare institutions, payers, and advocacy organizations.

• Convey up-to-date medical, clinical, and scientific knowledge regarding Xenon’s neurology and epilepsy offerings and development pipeline.

• Propel Xenon’s scientific foundation and medical knowledge in accordance with corporate and medical goals.

• Participate in projects and initiatives that align with medical strategies and objectives.

• Modify plans and strategies for the designated territory.

• Identify and report on scientific and clinical insights, trends, opportunities, and risks related to targeted products.

• Collaborate with clinical development teams to boost patient recruitment in Xenon-sponsored clinical trials.

• Identify principal investigators for epilepsy clinical programs.

• Address and document unsolicited inquiries for scientific information.

• Lead national and regional congress activities as assigned.

• Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to new or less experienced MSLs.

• Adhere to company policies, including the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.

• Report to the Regional Senior Director of Field-Based Medicine.

• Assist in Xenon’s drug discovery, clinical development, and commercialization efforts in neuroscience therapeutics.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a relevant doctoral degree (M.D., PhD, PharmD, DPH, or DNP) is required.

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant MSL experience is necessary; 8+ years is strongly preferred.

• Experience in neurology or epilepsy is required.

• Established relationships with KOLs and familiarity with institutions in neurology; epilepsy expertise is highly preferred.

• Comprehensive knowledge of clinical research processes, FDA regulations, and OIG guidelines is essential.

• Proficiency in conveying complex scientific and medical information clearly, accurately, concisely, credibly, and confidently.

• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively across functions.

• Openness and eagerness to learn.

• Availability to travel domestically up to 50% of the time, including overnight trips.

• International travel may be required on an occasional basis.

• Must have authorization to work in the United States without restrictions based on citizenship or immigration status.
