This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.
• Act as the field-based Medical Affairs representative for the external medical community.
• Foster and nurture professional relationships with HCPs, KOLs, and other external stakeholders to share scientific and medical information.
• Gather, assess, and relay actionable medical insights, emerging trends, and unmet medical needs to internal teams.
• Collaborate with Medical Affairs, Clinical Operations, European and Global Medical Affairs teams, sales divisions, and other internal entities.
• Provide precise, non-promotional scientific exchanges and convey complex scientific information to HCPs and KOLs.
• Offer scientific communication regarding pipeline products and indications in development, and facilitate responses to unsolicited medical information inquiries.
• Present clinical, development, publication, and other requested product data during field engagements and scientific gatherings.
• Assist with congress activities, including booth responsibilities, session coverage, and omnichannel initiatives.
• Identify, map, develop, and sustain engagement plans for medical experts and institutional networks.
• Establish and uphold long-term relationships with HCPs and cooperative groups.
• Propose, initiate, implement, and monitor scientific partnerships with clinical sites and hospitals.
• Engage in the planning and execution of medical events such as congresses and advisory boards.
• Identify and validate investigators and clinical sites for company-sponsored clinical trials.
• Keep track of developments in therapeutic areas and standards of care.
• Participate in clinical trial site feasibility assessments, onboarding, and ongoing site/trial follow-ups.
• Act as territory liaison for Investigator Sponsored Research proposals from submission through publication.
• Provide field-based scientific input to define and support medical affairs strategies.
• Organize local scientific events, review scientific literature, and develop or present scientific training and medical updates to the Field Sales Force.
• Implement a medical plan that supports shared objectives.
• Report to the Associate Medical Director.
• MSc/MD/PhD with a minimum of 2 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry, preferably with relevant clinical, scientific, and/or medical affairs experience in a related therapeutic area.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with robust stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Profound understanding of the relevant therapeutic area landscape and local market dynamics.
• Comprehensive knowledge of treatment guidelines, compliance standards, and local/regional regulatory requirements.
• Ability to identify and address unmet medical, educational, and research needs within the medical community.
• Proven capability to translate scientific and clinical data into actionable medical insights.
• Clinical research experience is preferred.
• Strong project management skills with a demonstrated ability to manage projects and/or colleagues in the successful execution of business-critical initiatives.
• Capacity to effectively collaborate in a dynamic, global environment.
• Exhibits a high degree of emotional intelligence and appreciation for diversity and multiculturalism.
• Proven ability to drive results at a high quality level as a strategic and creative thinker.
• Demonstrates the ability to navigate ambiguity and thrive in a constantly changing environment.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• An advanced scientific or clinical degree is mandatory.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experienced with electronic CRM systems.
• Fluency in both verbal and written English and the local language is necessary; proficiency in any other major European language is advantageous.
• A valid driving license is required.
