This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Conduct medical editing, copyediting, proofreading, and fact-checking for both digital and print pharmaceutical advertising materials, as well as internal and external presentations and corporate communications.
• Ensure adherence to Editorial competency standards and requirements across teams to uphold quality.
• Take ownership of all projects for designated clients.
• Lead complex brands or clients, including associated product launches.
• Assist in the onboarding process of new hires.
• Edit for clarity in language, consistency, brand and messaging accuracy, tone, cohesiveness, organization, client and AMA style, grammar, spelling, typographical errors, and formatting.
• Aid in content reviews utilizing AI tools.
• Engage in content review at every project stage, including fact-checking with precise referencing.
• Manage and allocate various brand tasks with competing deadlines while coordinating support with Editorial team members.
• Collaborate with Creative, Account, Project Management, and other colleagues to prioritize projects and ensure completion while maintaining quality standards.
• Oversee assigned launches and assist the agency team with launch-related tasks.
• Represent Editorial during internal kickoff and status meetings.
• Develop and uphold client and brand style guides.
• Onboard and mentor junior team members.
• Contribute to best practices and process initiatives within the department.
• Notify Editorial management of any editorial process or quality issues and work collaboratively to resolve them.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, along with relevant professional experience, is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of editing experience in a healthcare or pharmaceutical advertising agency setting.
• In-depth knowledge of current AMA style.
• Experience with medical, regulatory, and legal reviews.
• Familiarity with FDA regulations concerning drug promotion.
• Comfort and confidence in using medical/pharmaceutical terminology.
• Highly detail-oriented, thorough, and accurate.
• Ability to manage rapidly changing priorities and deadlines in high-pressure environments.
• Proven ability to take ownership, demonstrate accountability, and work independently.
• Exceptional verbal, written, organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Professional, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
