This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee editorial projects from inception to completion across print, digital, and multimedia formats.
• Ensure that content adheres to standards for instructional quality, linguistic accuracy, cultural authenticity, and alignment with curriculum.
• Develop and uphold editorial processes that promote quality, consistency, and efficiency.
• Offer guidance and feedback to editors, authors, freelancers, and external collaborators.
• Collaborate with Product, Instructional Development, Creative Services, Marketing, Sales, and leadership teams.
• Create project plans, timelines, and workflows.
• Communicate updates on progress, priorities, risks, and resolutions.
• Balance instructional objectives, business requirements, delivery timelines, quality, scope, and resources.
• Act as a principal editorial decision-maker steering strategic priorities and project results.
• Lead and coordinate activities involving contractors, freelancers, vendors, and editorial partners.
• Promote accountability, collaboration, and continual improvement.
• Contribute to the growth and advancement of the editorial function.
• Utilize expertise in language acquisition, curriculum development, and world language education.
• Engage with educators and classrooms through conferences, customer interactions, focus groups, surveys, and market outreach activities.
• Shape products to reflect contemporary research, ACTFL standards, and best practices.
• Provide leadership in curriculum and content across print and digital platforms.
• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing on initiatives targeting customers and industry events.
• Assist in editorial budgeting and resource management.
• Identify and eliminate barriers that impact project success.
• Align editorial priorities with organizational objectives and the evolving needs of the business.
• Bachelor's degree in Education, Second Language Acquisition, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related discipline (or a suitable combination of education and experience).
• Over 5 years of progressive experience in editorial leadership or managing editor positions.
• More than 3 years of experience leading complex editorial projects involving multiple stakeholders.
• Native or near-native proficiency in both Spanish and English.
• Extensive knowledge of ACTFL World-Readiness Standards, proficiency guidelines, and current trends in language education.
• Experience in K-12 educational publishing, world language instruction, curriculum development, or a related area.
• Background in developing and managing both print and digital educational products.
• Over 5 years of experience teaching Spanish.
• Outstanding communication, stakeholder management, organizational, and planning abilities.
• Capacity to manage several complex initiatives concurrently.
• Comfort in navigating ambiguity, change, and shifting priorities.
