This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Review, fact-check, and perform line edits on a high volume of projects to ensure editorial style, accuracy, and appropriateness.
• Maintain consistent application of copy standards across multiple marketing projects simultaneously.
• Evaluate copy and marketing materials for grammar, spelling, sentence structure, and typographical errors.
• Proofread content for paid media and SEO initiatives, including paid search and social ad copy, organic/SEO copy, and blog articles.
• Assess client and performance reports for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand voice.
• Review marketing and internal communication materials, such as POVs, blog posts, case studies, website content, and newsletters, for quality assurance.
• Proofread and ensure quality for RFI and RFP submissions related to new business opportunities.
• Implement brand-specific and department-specific voice and tone guidelines.
• Communicate style and grammar best practices to project teams.
• Oversee projects from initial draft to final website-ready content.
• Provide support to various teams and manage deadlines during a maternity leave assignment.
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Strategic Communications, Journalism, or a related field, along with relevant proofreading or copy-editing experience.
• Prior agency experience is preferred.
• Strong understanding of the digital publishing and production process, with the ability to identify layout issues.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including document and spreadsheet creation, editing, and review.
• Comprehensive knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation conventions.
• Familiar with digital media and SEO terminology, including paid search, paid social, organic/SEO copywriting standards, and current industry trends.
• Knowledge of AP style guidelines.
• Capable of reading and understanding text quickly and thoroughly to meet tight and evolving deadlines.
• Skilled in applying relevant standards across different types of publications.
• Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and changing priorities, including meeting tight turnaround times.
• Must be proficient in speaking, writing, and reading English.
• Must be able to sit for extended periods.
• Must be able to operate a keyboard and telephone.
• Open to 1099 contractor arrangements.
