Senior Medical Coding Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Ensure precise and consistent coding of medical data for clinical trials.

• Take charge of scientific operations deliverables, leveraging expertise to tackle complex challenges.

• Independently assess data coded by third-party vendors to ensure uniformity in coding.

• Supervise outsourced CRO activities through medical coding reviews and synonym dictionary evaluations.

• Review and uphold guidance and training documentation for coding standards in line with ICH guidelines and dictionary definitions.

• Assist other departments regarding dictionary usage and coding quality assurance.

• Collaborate in the creation and upkeep of CDM documents related to coding activities.

• Support and manage MedDRA and WHO Drug Dictionary upversion initiatives, including studies conducted by third-party vendors.

• Ensure adherence to industry quality standards, regulations, guidelines, and procedures.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in nursing, biology, or a health-related discipline.

• Fluency in English.

• Over 5 years of medical coding experience using MedDRA and WHO Drug Dictionaries.

• More than 5 years of experience within the Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology industry or a CRO environment.

• Familiarity with ICH/GCP guidelines and methodologies.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and strong prioritization, planning, and organizational skills.

• Excellent team player.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.

• Working knowledge of best practice documents for MedDRA and WHO Drug.

• Experience with coding applications, including Veeva and Medidata RAVE Coder, is preferred.

• Familiarity with data warehouse tools (e.g., Elluminate, CORE).

• Solid understanding of Clinical Data Management processes and relevant regulatory requirements.

• Legal authorization to work in the country where the position is located.
