Multispecialty Profee Coding Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding across four or more specialties for various clients or facilities.

• Code Professional Fee, Facility, or HCC cases, including the possibility of inpatient coding.

• Determine ProFee and/or Facility E/M levels utilizing the company’s algorithm.

• Identify critical care cases based on patient acuity.

• Code surgical procedures commonly associated with an ER setting to maximize additional revenue where applicable.

• Apply ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes with the utmost specificity available.

• Ensure accurate application of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT®, and HCPCS diagnosis and procedure codes.

• Interpret coding guidelines to guarantee precise code assignment.

• Evaluate the significance of documentation and its effect on reimbursement.

• Uphold quality and productivity standards.

• Communicate professionally with clients to build strong working relationships.

• Support Leadership or the Lead Coding Specialist with reports as necessary.

• Potentially assist with auditing tasks.

• Adhere to AHIMA ethical coding standards, the Company’s Code of Ethics, and the Ethics and Compliance Program.

• Follow internal policies and procedures diligently.

• Safeguard confidential information and Personal Health Information.

• Engage in company-sponsored training and educational initiatives.

• Carry out additional duties as assigned by Leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Certification required through either AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P).

• At least 2 years of relevant experience.

• Advanced knowledge and experience with EMR and billing systems.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

• Excel skills should include opening and editing spreadsheets, basic formulas, and creating simple pivot tables.

• Outlook skills must include managing emails and scheduling or attending meetings.

• Up-to-date CPT and ICD-10-CM coding references.

• Consistent, reliable, and punctual attendance is required.

• Maintain ongoing productivity and accuracy at a rate of 95% or higher.

• Achieve a continuous quality score of 95% or higher.

• Demonstrate effective and professional verbal and written communication.

• Possess the ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines.

• Capability to work independently from home utilizing coding skills.

• Ability to operate at a computer terminal for 6–8 hours daily.

• Occasionally lift and move materials weighing up to 20 lbs.
