This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Evaluate clinician-submitted charge recommendations for obstetric and GYN services.
• Address coding discrepancies and errors in charge entry.
• Confirm charge precision and implement coding adjustments when documentation reveals inconsistencies or areas for enhancement.
• Oversee coding queues.
• Allocate and order diagnoses and procedures in accordance with ICD-10-CM Official Coding Guidelines, CPT Assistant, Physician at Teaching Hospital Rules, and Evaluation and Management Documentation Guidelines.
• Facilitate precise charge capture.
• Examine and report on errors, trends, and findings.
• Generate reports utilizing Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Analyze regulatory and payer guidelines related to coding.
• Execute other responsibilities as assigned.
• Certified AAPC Coder.
• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree, or a suitable combination of relevant education and/or experience.
• Proficient in billing, collections from insurance providers and patients, insurance follow-up, and charge entry.
• Familiarity with revenue cycle management processes.
• Competent in using eBridge, Putty, and Lyra software.
• Skilled in Microsoft 365 Office suite with moderate proficiency in Excel.
• Capable of generating reports using Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Proficient in interpreting regulatory and payer guidelines and directives regarding coding.
• Ability to thrive in a high-volume setting while maintaining quality output.
• Strong interpersonal and telephone communication abilities.
• Capacity to work independently and troubleshoot issues.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize duties effectively.
• Exceptional attention to detail, including clinical data, medical terminology, and disease processes.
• Solid understanding of HIPAA as it pertains to revenue cycle management.
• Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
• High ethical standards.
• Reliable, responsible, and team-oriented.
• Effective interpersonal skills when engaging with OB hospitalists and staff.
