Senior Mechanical Estimator – Data Center Construction

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Develop precise and comprehensive cost estimates for mechanical systems in construction initiatives.

• Examine project plans and specifications to identify the scope of work and necessary materials.

• Work collaboratively with project teams to create thorough cost management strategies.

• Evaluate project needs and suggest value engineering alternatives.

• Conduct cost risk assessments and contribute insights into value engineering.

• Engage and coordinate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.

• Utilize industry-specific estimating software and tools for preparing estimates.

• Offer estimating advice, support, and analysis to project stakeholders.

• Stay updated on industry-specific estimating processes and methodologies.

• Create formal estimating reports detailing quantities, costs, escalation, assumptions, and clarifications.

• Assist in formulating estimating standards and best practices.

• Comply with relevant SOX control responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related construction field.

• Previous experience in Data Center Construction/Mission Critical projects or related fields.

• A minimum of 5–7 years of pertinent experience.

• Experience in supporting program-level cost management for medium to large-scale construction projects.

• Strong understanding of technical aspects of the construction industry, including value management and value engineering.

• Outstanding communication abilities.

• Capability to excel in a client-facing position.

• Proficiency in industry-specific estimating software and tools.

• Familiarity with estimating processes and methodologies.
