Senior Mechanical Engineer – Nuclear

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Engaged in the design of systems for nuclear power plants.

• Responsible for preparing or reviewing modification packages for active nuclear power plants.

• Create functional mechanical drawings and/or diagrams for systems within nuclear power plants.

• Conduct engineering analyses and evaluations to facilitate modifications and the operation of plant systems.

• Draft technical specifications and procurement documents for equipment used in the plant.

• Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment.

• Perform studies and evaluations of options for modifications to operational nuclear power plants.

• Generate engineering cost estimates for small to mid-sized work scopes requested by clients.

• Visit client offices and/or plant sites to collaborate with clients and present updates related to engineering tasks and their status.

• Lead project teams in engineering initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in the power industry.

• Strong understanding of codes, standards, and regulations relevant to the mechanical engineering design of nuclear power plants.

• A Professional Engineer (PE) license is advantageous, but not mandatory.

• Demonstrated willingness to guide others in utilizing modern tools such as automation and AI to enhance workflows, minimize rework, and provide cost-effective designs.
