Trainer, Mechanical Engineering & Scan-to-CAD Focus

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Provide practical training in the fundamentals of 3D scanning, emphasizing mechanical engineering.

• Instruct participants on the entire scan-to-CAD workflow: 3D scanning → point cloud → mesh → reverse engineering → CAD modeling → technical drawing → manufacturing.

• Oversee project assignments involving real components.

• Integrate contemporary technologies and industrial applications into the training curriculum.

• Assist participants in confidently applying their knowledge in practical scenarios, including in virtual classrooms.

⛳️ Requirements

• Technical training or a degree in fields such as mechanical engineering, mechatronics, product development, or surveying engineering.

• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in 3D scanning, reverse engineering, or digital data capture.

• Comprehensive understanding of diverse scanning technologies, including laser, structured-light, or handheld scanners.

• Proficiency in managing point clouds, mesh data, and formats such as STL, OBJ, PLY, and STEP.

• Experience in preparing and further processing scanned data.

• Practical experience in integrating scanned data into CAD systems.

• Familiarity with reverse engineering technical components and assemblies.

• Strong knowledge of technical drawings and design principles.

• Experience in adult education or training delivery.

• Proficiency with software such as Artec Studio, Geomagic (Design X/Warp), PolyWorks, VXelements, or FARO Scene.

• Experience with at least one CAD platform, such as Inventor, SolidWorks, Creo, or NX.

• Expertise in metrology, quality standards, and data assessment.

• Capacity to evaluate scan results concerning accuracy and applicability.

• Familiarity with hands-on workflows and project-oriented learning.

• Interest in Digital Twin technology, digitalization, and scan-to-CAD processes.

• Certifications from scanner or software manufacturers are a plus.

• Experience in optical metrology or quality assurance is advantageous.

• Knowledge of 3D printing/additive manufacturing is a plus.

• Experience in mobile mapping, drone scanning, or large-scale scanning projects is beneficial.

• Exposure to AI, BIM, or AR/VR is an asset.

• Experience in delivering online training is advantageous.
