This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Prepare and assess load calculations.
• Create and evaluate CAD drawings, specifications, equipment room dimensions, and project documentation.
• Select and schedule mechanical equipment while engaging with vendors to discuss application requirements.
• Collaborate with MEP/FP, architectural, structural, and other disciplines.
• Address RFIs, evaluate submittals, and resolve installation issues.
• Implement risk management procedures and oversee design processes, work plans, deliverables, budgets, and project milestones across various projects.
• Develop narratives for scope-of-work, studies, reports, sequences of operations, and details of existing conditions.
• Apply concepts for chilled water, hot water, condenser water, steam, air-side, hydronic, variable-flow, and constant-flow systems.
• Conduct equipment selection and analysis for chillers, boilers, air terminals, fans, cooling towers, air valves, HEPA filters, DX equipment, and water-source heat pumps.
• Lead and mentor Designer-level staff.
• Execute responsible-charge design and QA/QC reviews.
• Review code-related matters to ensure compliance.
• Work collaboratively with project controllers, project managers, clients, and vendors to achieve project milestones.
• Over 10 years of experience in project management and mechanical design.
• PE License is mandatory.
• A degree in engineering is required.
• Must possess a professional engineering license.
• Strong leadership abilities are essential.
• Effective communication skills are necessary.
• Experience in building design is required.
• Preferred experience in data centers, mission-critical environments, or the telecommunications industry.
• Proficiency in CAD and experience with CAD drawings.
• Comprehensive knowledge of applicable codes is necessary.
• Understanding of project planning, design phases, work plans, budgets, and deliverables is required.
• Advanced knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment selection, psychrometrics, humid-climate design risks, and total-energy concepts is essential.
