Senior Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Taiwan.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical knowledge and support for Materials and Processes related to Honeywell Aerospace products.

• Collaborate as a member of a cohesive Materials Engineering team.

• Work together with various Honeywell Aerospace engineering groups to develop solutions and systems that address changing customer requirements.

• Engage in all stages of product development.

• Act as a technical resource for junior engineers.

• Provide support for both new and existing aerospace gas turbine engine products utilized for propulsion and auxiliary power.

• Emphasize metallurgy and metallurgical processes such as casting, forging, heat treating, and welding.

• Assist with materials and processes related to the design and production of metallic components.

• Function as the main contact for Materials and Process Engineering in Taiwan and the APAC Region.

• Coordinate between regional suppliers and Honeywell Aerospace.

• Travel is expected to be around 25% of the time.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field.

• Over 7 years of experience in materials/process engineering.

• More than 7 years of experience with aerospace materials such as aluminum, steel, titanium, and nickel.

• Bachelor's Degree specializing in Materials Science, Material Engineering, Metallurgy, Aerospace Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.

• An advanced degree in engineering or a related field is advantageous.

• Knowledge and practical experience in casting, forging, heat treating, welding, or other metallurgical manufacturing processes.

• Acquaintance with industrial materials and processing specifications.

• Familiarity with Nadcap and relevant industry standards, requirements, and certifications.

• Ability to evaluate new suppliers and identify their strengths and weaknesses.

• Experience in conducting supplier audits.

• Proven experience in collaborating with and developing suppliers.

• Skill in troubleshooting material and process challenges and offering technical solutions for quick resolution.

• Experience in liaising with suppliers and Honeywell Engineering, Quality, Supplier Development Engineers (SDE), and Integrated Supply Chain (ISC).

• Background in working alongside Design Engineering.

• Understanding of engineering drawings and specifications.

• Experience with Six Sigma, Lean, and other process improvement methodologies.

• Familiarity with simulation software such as DEFORM, ProCast, and Thermocalc.

• Ability to occasionally lift up to 35 pounds in a single lift.
