This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Execute comprehensive engineering design, analysis, and technical supervision across designated projects and disciplines.

• Oversee engineering functions throughout pre-construction estimating, bid-phase design, project awarding, design execution, construction assistance, and project closeout.

• Assist in pre-bid site evaluations and constructability assessments.

• Ensure that designs adhere to local, state, and international building regulations, Owner contracts, and organizational best practices.

• Create Basis of Design (BOD) documents and manage Requests for Information (RFIs).

• Direct the review of drawings and designs.

• Conduct equipment and material quantity takeoffs and verify results.

• Organize design timelines, resource allocation, and inter-disciplinary activities.

• Collaborate with owners and Engineer of Record (EOR) teams regarding submittal timelines, reviews, procurement outputs, page transitions, and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) outreach.

• Examine contracts and subcontracts, providing technical guidance.

• Oversee the selection, evaluation, and approval of equipment and materials in conjunction with supply chain, estimating, and construction teams.

• Work alongside departments, vendors, and external engineering firms to develop safer, cost-effective, and more efficient solutions.

• Partner with construction management to enhance design comprehension and supply field teams with plans, quantities, and specifications.

• Engage with owners, EOR teams, estimating personnel, project engineering staff, and internal stakeholders.

• Record and address scope alterations, quantity modifications, and design discrepancies.

• Document and disseminate lessons learned to enhance design quality and proposal competitiveness.

• Mentor, train, and onboard Engineer I/II personnel.

• Identify opportunities to optimize workflows and minimize waste.

• Occasionally participate in job/career fairs and assist with special projects and additional tasks as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited institution, or equivalent relevant industry experience.

• A minimum of five (5) years of progressive engineering and/or supervisory experience in a related sector.

• Experience in both pre-construction/estimating and project execution phases is preferred.

• A Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred, particularly with a focus on mechanical engineering.

• Proven ability to supervise, influence, and motivate individuals and teams toward shared goals.

• Proficient understanding of utility-scale engineering equipment and applications within relevant disciplines.

• Strong oral, written, listening, and presentation communication abilities.

• Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

• Familiarity, experience, or an interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI).

• Exceptional organizational, scheduling, planning, and prioritization capabilities.

• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and proposals effectively.

• Logical reasoning skills to assess alternative solutions and methodologies.

• Accounting capabilities, including mathematics, record-keeping, and cost management to oversee engineering budgets and report on cost effectiveness.

• Capacity to manage sensitive and confidential information appropriately.

• May need to qualify as an individual for company contract licensing pursuits.

• A valid driver's license and a satisfactory motor vehicle driving record (MVR) are required.

• Expected travel of up to 25% of the time.
