Senior Mechanical Designer – Nuclear Power

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Operate under the supervision of the Mechanical Project Lead.

• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering and design project teams to create mechanical physical layout drawings within a 3-D model.

• Design mechanical systems while identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving mechanical design challenges.

• Employ 3D modeling software tools to produce mechanical design schematics.

• Oversee the coordination of detailed design phases for all elements of an integrated mechanical design model.

• Guide and support designers and project team members to ensure comprehensive and punctual design completion.

• Independently plan and carry out design deliverables, which include general arrangements, piping isometrics, piping composites, pipe support drawings, and equipment location drawings.

• Perform field walkdowns and data collection at client facilities when necessary.

• Provide mentorship to less experienced drafters and designers.

⛳️ Requirements

• An Associate's Degree in drafting, or a high school diploma with one or more years of drafting coursework or equivalent technical experience.

• A minimum of ten years of detailed physical design experience in creating mechanical general arrangements, piping systems, and supports.

• Skilled in using design software tools for developing 3D plant layout models.

• Experience reviewing mechanical equipment, including outlines and interface points, and coordinating the development of related deliverables.

• Ability to collaborate with engineering and design teams from other disciplines in the power plant design process.

• Must not require U.S. work authorization sponsorship.

• Proficiency in MicroStation is advantageous but not mandatory.
