Project Designer 2

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, engineer, and document physical security and life safety solutions of moderate to high complexity.

• Provide design or drawing support during the development and as-built phases of engineered drawings.

• Acquire electronic plans and design drawings from engineers, architects, owners, and contractors.

• Generate engineered drawings utilizing AutoCAD and similar software.

• Prepare record drawings, operations and maintenance manuals, and submittal packages.

• Uphold project design, documentation, submittal, and design standards.

• Engage in internal design reviews, project turnover meetings, site surveys, and walkthroughs.

• Offer project documentation, programming graphics, and material procurement assistance.

• Obtain and facilitate necessary project permits.

• Communicate design progress, completion timelines, scope changes, and costs to Project Managers.

• Assist with pricing for change orders and execute authorized change-order work.

• Provide operational support during the sales phase as required.

• Train and direct other designers when necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• College degree, trade school certification, or equivalent experience.

• 3 to 5 years of experience in engineering, field service, or design project management.

• Over 3 years of experience with AutoCAD.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Experience in one or more areas: electronic systems, fire alarm and life safety, building automation, and/or healthcare (preferred, but not mandatory).

• Capability to apply intermediate and advanced drafting techniques.

• Understanding of practical electrical and fabrication issues.

• Familiarity with industry standards and codes.

• Ability to review product specifications, applications, and electrical requirements for compliance with codes and AHJ regulations.
