Senior Mechanical Designer – Nuclear Power

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate under the guidance of the Mechanical Project Lead alongside multi-disciplinary engineering and design project teams.

• Create mechanical physical layout drawings utilizing a 3-D model.

• Design mechanical systems while investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving mechanical design challenges.

• Employ 3D modeling software tools to produce mechanical design schematics.

• Serve as the lead for the Mechanical design team, coordinating detailed design phases for integrated mechanical design models.

• Direct and support designers and project team members to guarantee comprehensive and punctual design.

• Strategize and carry out design deliverables, including general arrangements, piping isometrics, piping composites, pipe support drawings, and equipment location drawings.

• Perform field walkdowns and data collection at client facilities when necessary.

• Provide mentorship to junior drafters and designers.

⛳️ Requirements

• An Associate's Degree in drafting, or a high school diploma along with 1 or more years of drafting coursework or equivalent technical experience.

• At least ten years of comprehensive physical design experience involving the development of mechanical general arrangements, piping systems, and supports.

• Proficiency in design software tools for executing 3D plant layout models.

• Experience reviewing mechanical equipment, including outlines and interface points, while coordinating and producing the related deliverables.

• Capability to collaborate with engineering and design teams from other disciplines in the power plant design process.
