This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.
β’ Oversee and cultivate a team of attorneys dedicated to pharmacy network operations within the PBM organization.
β’ Act as the principal legal advisor for the strategy, initiatives, and business objectives related to pharmacy network operations.
β’ Offer daily legal counsel regarding pharmacy network operations, contracting, reimbursement, credentialing, network strategy, and compliance with regulations.
β’ Provide guidance on state and federal laws and regulations that impact PBMs, pharmacy networks, and the healthcare supply chain.
β’ Draft, review, negotiate, and offer strategic insights on complex agreements related to healthcare and pharmacy.
β’ Collaborate with business leaders on strategic initiatives, business transformations, and enterprise projects influencing pharmacy network operations.
β’ Work in conjunction with regulatory, compliance, privacy, litigation, and transactional legal teams.
β’ Establish strong relationships with senior business stakeholders and provide counsel to leadership.
β’ Ensure the delivery of high-quality legal support while balancing legal risks with business objectives.
β’ Mentor, coach, and develop attorneys, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
β’ Juris Doctor (JD) from a recognized law school.
β’ Active legal license to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
β’ A minimum of 10+ years of legal experience, with significant expertise in healthcare regulatory and transactional matters.
β’ At least 6+ years of direct legal experience in PBM, supporting pharmacy benefit management operations, pharmacy networks, or other related PBM functions.
β’ A minimum of 3+ years of leadership experience managing attorneys or legal professionals.
β’ Proven experience advising PBM business leaders on operational, strategic, and regulatory issues.
β’ Proficient in drafting and negotiating complex agreements related to healthcare, pharmacy, networks, or supply chains.
β’ In-depth knowledge of federal and state healthcare laws and regulations, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, HIPAA, and other laws addressing healthcare fraud and abuse.
β’ Demonstrated ability to think strategically, exercise sound judgment, and provide practical, business-oriented legal advice.
β’ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the capability to influence senior stakeholders.
β’ Experience in advising on pharmacy contracting, reimbursement, network management, credentialing, or pharmacy operations.
β’ Previous in-house legal experience in healthcare supporting a PBM or health plan.
