This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Formulate, execute, and consistently enhance global commodity strategies for titanium and nickel mill products.
• Manage strategic supplier partnerships, encompassing contract formulation, negotiation, long-term agreements, and performance oversight.
• Observe global markets, mill capacities, geopolitical risks, and industry trends that impact raw material pricing and availability.
• Propel cost-reduction efforts through value engineering, competitive bidding, should-cost analysis, and supply chain optimization.
• Collaborate with engineering and materials teams on design choices, specification improvements, and new product launches.
• Assist in capacity planning, demand forecasting, and long-term procurement strategies.
• Spearhead risk mitigation activities, including dual sourcing, inventory strategies, and supplier development.
• Facilitate communication with internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment on commodity strategies, cost initiatives, and key decisions through effective reporting.
• Uphold compliance with company policies, regulatory mandates, export controls, and ethical sourcing standards.
• Aid in budgeting, cost modeling, financial analysis, and the presentation of category strategies to leadership.
• Report directly to the Associate Director of Commodity Management for Hard Alloys metals commodities.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
• A University Degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related discipline with at least 7 years of experience, or 14 years of relevant experience in the absence of a degree.
• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
• In-depth comprehension of the RTX aerospace sector, especially critical metallics for engine applications.
• Subject matter expertise in titanium and nickel mill commodities.
• Extensive knowledge of the supply base and current and emerging commodity trends.
• A Bachelor’s degree in STEM, Business with a focus on Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience with aerospace-grade titanium and nickel metallics, particularly in engine and rotor hardware requirements.
• Familiarity with titanium and nickel mill products, global mills, forging/conversion processes, and downstream manufacturing.
• Excellent negotiation skills.
• Expertise in contracts.
• Experience in supplier relationship management.
• Capability to interpret intricate technical and commercial data, including market indices and cost drivers.
• Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and managing strategic initiatives.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to adhere to company policies, regulatory requirements, export controls, and ethical sourcing standards.
