This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Formulate, implement, and enhance global commodity strategies for titanium and nickel mill products.
• Manage strategic relationships with suppliers, including contract development, negotiations, long-term agreements, and performance oversight.
• Analyze global markets, mill capacities, geopolitical risks, and industry trends that impact pricing and availability.
• Initiate cost-reduction efforts through value engineering, competitive bidding, should-cost analysis, and optimization of the supply chain.
• Partner with engineering and materials teams on design choices, specifications, and the introduction of new products.
• Assist in capacity planning, demand forecasting, and long-term procurement strategies.
• Oversee risk mitigation strategies through dual sourcing, inventory management, and supplier development initiatives.
• Facilitate communication with internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment on commodity plans and key decisions through effective reporting.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, regulatory standards, export controls, and ethical sourcing practices.
• Aid in budgeting, cost modeling, financial analysis, and the presentation of category strategies to leadership.
• Report directly to the Associate Director of Commodity Management for Hard Alloys metals commodities.
• Travel may be required up to 25% of the time.
• A university degree along with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field with at least 7 years of experience, or 14 years of relevant experience without a degree.
• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
• Experience with aerospace-grade titanium and nickel metallics, particularly in engine and rotor hardware specifications.
• Familiarity with titanium and nickel mill products, global mills, forging/conversion processes, and downstream manufacturing.
• Proficient negotiation skills.
• Expertise in contracts.
• Experience in managing supplier relationships.
• Ability to analyze complex technical and commercial data, including market indices and cost drivers.
• Demonstrated capability to lead cross-functional teams and manage strategic initiatives.
