Senior Manager, Technical Program Management, Data Center Build and Design

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Direct the Technical Program Management team responsible for the design and delivery of data centers across major campuses of 100 MW and higher.

• Manage the thirteen-gate delivery framework from site qualification to revenue service.

• Ensure the quality of gate packages, review schedules, outcomes, conditional-pass tracking, and turnover acceptance by Operations.

• Build and oversee a team of four to eight technical program managers.

• Take charge of hiring strategies, capacity allocation, performance evaluation, career development, onboarding, and training initiatives.

• Oversee the design and build aspect of the integrated master schedule, including critical path logic, gate milestones, interlocks, procurement commitments, and fit-out sequencing.

• Provide timely and accurate portfolio status updates to executive leadership.

• Hold general contractors, landlords, colocation partners, and vendors accountable for the quality of scope, schedule, and deliverables.

• Manage milestone discipline for colocation site interfaces.

• Identify high-priority delivery obstacles, facilitate decision-making, and communicate recovery plans in written form.

• Gather cycle-time data, integrate lessons learned into the playbook, and enhance delivery velocity across locations.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8 to 12 years of experience in technical program management or delivery leadership, including at least 2 to 3 years in a managerial role.

• Direct involvement in the delivery of data center design and construction at scale.

• Experience managing multiple concurrent sites or a large multi-phase campus from design to commissioning and into service.

• Proven expertise in stage gate delivery governance.

• Proficiency in schedule logic at the level of Primavera P6 or equivalent.

• Skills in critical path analysis, risk register management, and decision logging.

• In-depth knowledge of data center infrastructure, including power architecture, cooling (including liquid cooling), structured cabling, fiber plant, and commissioning frameworks.

• History of influencing engineering teams, general contractors, and vendors without direct authority.

• Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, and retain a team of program managers.

• Executive-level communication skills that start with key conclusions.

• Willingness to travel to assigned construction sites regularly, with a minimum of monthly visits and extended on-site presence during energization and commissioning, estimated at 30 to 40 percent travel.

• Preferred certifications include CDCDP, CDCP, or equivalent formal data center qualifications.

• Experience in delivering AI density whitespace is preferred.

• Background in hyperscale, GPU cloud, or AI infrastructure is preferred.

• Familiarity with greenfield builds and colocation tenant deployments is preferred.

• Experience in establishing a program management function is preferred.

• Knowledge of GPU cluster deployments is preferred.

• Candidates residing near Las Vegas or Richmond hubs are preferred.

• Authorization to work in the United States is required.
