
Senior Manager – Tax Technology Implementations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the technical implementation strategy across different domains and the indirect tax calculation service.
• Convert indirect tax requirements into actionable deliverables for engineers.
• Manage the consolidated plan that outlines the program status for Tax and Engineering leadership.
• Create tax requirements and acceptance criteria that can withstand audits.
• Evaluate design documents and challenge designs that may not adapt to future tax regulations.
• Establish the scope and sequence for each integration.
• Manage critical paths and drive the timelines for delivery.
• Analyze the downstream impact when teams experience delays and present alternatives.
• Influence the roadmaps of eight engineering teams and advocate for tax priorities.
• Define criteria for testing, monitoring, rollout, go/no-go decisions, and rollback procedures.
• Ensure that integrations are launched with runbooks, alert systems, and ongoing ownership.
• Manage the risk register and escalate risks with actionable recommendations.
• Keep the integrated plan as the authoritative source of information.
• Coordinate decision-making processes among Tax, Product, Engineering, and Data teams.
• Provide program status updates to senior leadership.
• Over 8 years of experience in a corporate tax department, public accounting, or technology consulting.
• Experience with global or multi-country indirect tax implementations.
• Knowledge of non-US indirect tax systems.
• Practical experience in implementing Marketplace Facilitator laws across various jurisdictions.
• Program or project management experience across multiple interdependent engineering teams.
• Proven ability to build plans, set milestones, and create dependency maps while driving projects to completion.
• Direct experience collaborating with engineering teams on product development.
• Familiarity with software development processes.
• Competence in reading technical design documents and evaluating their feasibility.
• Experience in defining testing and monitoring strategies for systems where accuracy is critical.
• Strong analytical skills, excellent organization, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Capacity to work effectively without formal authority in a highly collaborative, multi-stakeholder environment.
