This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Prepare and/or assist with tax filings at the federal, state/provincial, and local levels for all legal entities.
• Ensure compliance with sales/use tax, GST/HST, and VAT across various jurisdictions, including monitoring nexus.
• Aid in the calculations for quarterly and annual tax provisions in accordance with IFRS.
• Utilize AI tools for conducting tax law research, drafting technical memos, and summarizing regulatory updates.
• Investigate and document tax positions related to new products, contract structures, and cross-border transactions.
• Assist in identifying tax planning opportunities, including R&D tax credits, intercompany transfer pricing, and jurisdictional structuring.
• Manage the tax compliance calendar across all jurisdictions.
• Aid in responding to tax notices and provide support during tax audits.
• Keep abreast of significant changes in tax laws.
• Serve as the initial contact for Sales, Procurement, and Operations regarding routine tax inquiries.
• Review customer and vendor agreements to ensure appropriate tax treatment.
• Support market expansion efforts by assessing tax registration and compliance requirements.
• Simplify complex tax regulations into practical guidance for stakeholders.
• Acquire knowledge and ultimately take ownership of the 13-week cash flow forecast.
• Monitor daily cash positions across various bank accounts and currencies.
• Gain experience with banking relationships, account structures, and treasury tools.
• Assist in tracking intercompany funding and considerations regarding foreign currency exposure.
• Contribute to annual treasury planning and working capital analysis.
• Explore AI tools for analyzing cash forecast variances and automating recurring reconciliations and reporting.
• Collaborate with the Director of Accounting, Accounting, FP&A, Finance Operations, and external advisors.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA/CA in progress or completed.
• 2–4 years of experience in tax compliance.
• A genuine interest in learning about cash forecasting and treasury operations; prior treasury experience is not required.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and willing to learn new processes.
• Proficient in using AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot.
• Strong skills in Excel.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
• Detail-oriented and organized, capable of managing multiple deadlines.
• Candidates must pass a criminal record check upon hiring.
• Must be a Canadian citizen, including dual citizens, or eligible to work in Canada.

• Preferred: experience with IFRS reporting.
• Preferred: background in SaaS, hardware, or hybrid hardware/software businesses.
• Preferred: familiarity with multi-entity or multi-currency environments.
