This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Rhode Island.
• Cultivate, maintain, and oversee client relationships through timely and effective communication and services.
• Act as a reliable personal and business advisor to clients.
• Offer advisory services to financial institutions concerning FATCA, CRS, Chapter 3 (1042 and 8804 reporting and withholding), and Withholding Foreign Partnerships.
• Oversee multiple consulting, compliance, and tax planning projects.
• Develop, convey, and execute innovative planning strategies in collaboration with client service teams.
• Lead and manage IRS and state audits.
• Engage in new business development activities, including prospecting, networking, and representing CBIZ at industry events.
• Create and deliver technical training sessions on individual-related tax subjects.
• Recruit, oversee, train, develop, and inspire less experienced team members.
• Foster a collaborative team environment and support management decisions.
• Contribute to the internal management of the tax department through committee participation and group leadership roles.
• Evolve into a leader in the financial industry focusing on international tax transparency and transform processes within Private Equity.
• Bachelor's degree.
• 10 years of experience in public accounting or a related field.
• 10 years of supervisory experience.
• Capability to manage deadlines, handle multiple assignments, and prioritize tasks as needed.
• Proficient in relevant technology.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, across all levels of the organization, internally and externally.
• Established high standards of business integrity, client service, and leadership skills.
• Willingness to travel based on client and business requirements.
• Comprehensive experience in tax planning and consulting with demonstrated expertise in FATCA, CRS, Chapter 3 of the Internal Revenue Code, WHFPs, QIs, 871m, or other withholding and reporting frameworks.
• Leading technical expertise in 1042, 8804, FATCA & CRS returns, and tax form validation (W-8, W-9, or CRS Self-Certifications).
• Proven success in providing consultative services to global financial services firms with banking and brokerage clients.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond appropriately to queries from clients and team members.
• Strong track record in new business development.
• Exceptional analytical, supervisory, organizational, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience and ongoing interest in developing and mentoring junior team members.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Previous experience in public accounting or law firms.
