Senior Manager, Reporting & Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Comprehend client data utilization and convert business requirements into precise reporting specifications.

• Take ownership of report content, accuracy, delivery, service expectations, scope, timeline, and trade-offs.

• Lead and nurture Proof's data team through goal establishment, coaching, feedback, and career advancement.

• Coordinate capacity with business and technical leaders while balancing client obligations with reporting enhancements.

• Evaluate queries and data models, resolve challenging issues, and contribute SQL or code modifications when necessary.

• Oversee methodologies for data pipelines, shared models, internal BI, and SQL tools.

• Set standards for data quality, monitoring, and accessibility.

• Collaborate with Engineering to transfer data from the warehouse to necessary systems.

• Assist teams in leveraging reliable data to assess performance, identify opportunities, and make informed decisions.

• Partner with Product and Engineering on data for internal tools and AI systems.

• Work alongside Business Operations on automation and tooling choices.

• Propel measurable enhancements in report accuracy, delivery dependability, and turnaround time.

• Transform client and operational data trends into actionable insights that influence business priorities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in data, analytics, or reporting.

• More than 3 years of experience managing a data or analytics team.

• Proven track record in developing talent, establishing scalable processes, and enhancing delivery.

• Demonstrated experience in leading client discovery and articulating technical trade-offs in layman's terms.

• Experience in delivering data into client systems via recurring extracts or agreed-upon file formats.

• Skilled in investigating and addressing reconciliation challenges.

• Strong proficiency in SQL and knowledge of data modeling.

• Familiarity with Python or similar scripting languages is advantageous.

• Eagerness to continue developing technical abilities.

• Experience with production data systems and automation, including data warehouses, pipelines, and BI tools.

• Experience with practical build-versus-buy decision-making.

• Familiarity with complex enterprise workflows is beneficial.

• Ability to quickly grasp the business context.
