This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Support the planning and execution of business development initiatives from identification to completion.
• Identify and secure customers and/or transactions in the renewable power sector while managing the prospect pipeline.
• Discover and cultivate opportunities for acquiring or developing new power facilities in both U.S. and international markets.
• Collaborate with internal Hanwha resources and external consultants to evaluate project viability and oversee project management.
• Engage in project due diligence activities.
• Serve as a liaison between project development and financial analysis teams to assess deal structures, economic considerations, and tax assumptions.
• Establish schedules for tasks and milestones; track progress and prepare status reports.
• Create presentations for senior management.
• Build and sustain relationships with industry and government contacts in the U.S. and/or internationally.
• Gather supporting data and competitive intelligence regarding market opportunities.
• Track industry trends, competitor actions, regulations, financial incentives, power pricing, and structured financing transactions.
• Develop project budgets and assist with budget evaluations.
• Comprehend, negotiate, and secure environmental, local, state, and federal development permits.
• Negotiate and finalize utility interconnection agreements.
• Negotiate contract terms with project finance, engineering, project management, procurement, and legal teams.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
• Carry out additional tasks as assigned by the Director of Development.
• At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in renewable energy development, specifically in U.S. solar PV power projects, business development, project development, marketing, or related experience.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or a related field.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
• Relevant commercial negotiation experience along with management, negotiation, and influencing skills.
• Experience in managing the solar energy development process.
• Deep understanding of renewable energy power markets and their dynamics.
• Ability to stay informed about evolving technologies, regulations, and trends.
• Capability to build and maintain relationships with off-takers and industry leaders.
• Proven track record of closing renewable energy deals.
• Strategic, general management, and entrepreneurial expertise gained through leadership roles in the solar and renewable energy sectors.
• Strong skills in prioritization, communication, and organization.
• Ability to quickly adapt to new tasks and circumstances.
• An entrepreneurial mindset and a diplomatic approach.
