This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Lead a team of Forward Deployed Engineers and Engagement Managers within Kong's US Professional Services division.
• Oversee hiring, coaching, career advancement, and performance evaluation.
• Take ownership of delivery outcomes across the business portfolio, including go-live timelines, technical excellence, and customer satisfaction.
• Allocate FDEs and Engagement Managers to projects based on their complexity, scope, and available resources.
• Act as a senior escalation point for engagements that are at risk or of high complexity.
• Conduct staffing assessments, at-risk reviews, one-on-ones, and status updates for Professional Services leadership.
• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, and Solutions Architecture on project scoping and transitions.
• Establish and enforce delivery standards, reusable accelerators, reference architectures, and industry best practices.
• Provide customer feedback to Kong Product and Engineering teams.
• Drive strategic initiatives related to AI connectivity, governance, platform modernization, and cloud-native transformation.
• Minimum of 8 years in customer-facing engineering, professional services, or platform engineering roles.
• At least 2 years of direct management experience leading a technical, customer-facing team.
• Proven track record in delivery leadership within API gateways, API management, integrations, or distributed systems platforms.
• Experience in managing staffing, resource allocation, and prioritization for concurrent enterprise projects.
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes and cloud-native infrastructure.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience in directing and assessing automation frameworks, deployment tools, CI/CD pipelines, or migration tools.
• Prior experience in API Management, Open Source, Middleware, SaaS, or Infrastructure software companies is highly advantageous.
• Exceptional communication skills for engaging with both technical and executive audiences.
• Strong ability to prioritize and execute across a multi-account portfolio.
