This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Oversee CAA's consultation activities regarding regulatory, technical, and policy-related matters with producers, trade associations, and other stakeholders.
β’ Strategically plan, design, and facilitate organized consultation processes, including working groups, advisory committees, and member forums.
β’ Provide information and foster consensus around policy development and regulatory positioning.
β’ Act as a reliable liaison between CAA, Founding Members, trade associations, and other relevant parties.
β’ Assist in policy development, harmonization initiatives, and strategic engagement activities.
β’ Develop and manage policy communications for both internal and external audiences, including key messages, PowerPoint presentations, briefing notes, Q&As, and backgrounders.
β’ Collaborate with CAAβs Communications Team to create tailored communications materials for specific audiences.
β’ Promote CAAβs thought leadership and advance EPR harmonization efforts.
β’ Monitor, analyze, and research EPR policies and broader trends.
β’ Engage in pertinent policy discussions and learning sessions to remain updated on EPR best practices.
β’ Assist in policy and program planning where CAA may assume the role of the PRO.
β’ Carry out additional job-related responsibilities as assigned.
β’ Report directly to the Director of Policy Analysis.
β’ Collaborate as part of the National Program Planning and Operations team.
β’ A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in public policy, environmental or sustainability studies, or a related field.
β’ Over 7 years of experience in public policy is essential.
β’ At least 2 years of direct experience with EPR, ideally focusing on paper and packaging EPR.
β’ Exceptional communication, presentation, analytical, and material development skills are necessary.
β’ Ability to effectively summarize and convey findings.
β’ Proficiency in PowerPoint, with proven experience in creating executive-level presentations and briefing materials tailored to specific audiences.
β’ Experience in policy communications is preferred.
β’ Preferred background includes working within or closely with a trade association, industry group, or member-based organization.
β’ Familiarity with SmartSheets is preferred.
β’ Must demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations, identify emerging risks and opportunities, and determine when issues need escalation versus independent resolution.
β’ Strong organizational and administrative abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
β’ Excellent analytical and research skills, including detailed policy analysis, feedback collection, assessment of implications from various perspectives, and development of strategic recommendations.
β’ Capability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment, lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously, handle competing priorities, and meet deadlines with minimal direction.
β’ Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
β’ Skilled in convening, managing, and facilitating multi-stakeholder meetings, working groups, and committees.
β’ Proficient in navigating differing perspectives and driving toward aligned outcomes.
