Senior Manager – Learning and Development, Design

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Direct the strategic vision and implementation of the vendor solution curriculum portfolio.

• Coordinate a high-performing design team that merges human instructional expertise with agent-augmented methodologies.

• Transform the curriculum strategy from conventional delivery models to an agentic operating model.

• Cultivate a culture of quality by design.

• Oversee the sourcing and management of relationships with external training vendors.

• Manage contract negotiations and optimize enterprise training budgets and credits.

• Administer the Vendor Catalog within VTeam Central.

• Lead discussions with business leaders to pinpoint performance gaps and address technical training needs through third-party vendors.

• Assess the effectiveness of learning and the business impact of external programs.

• Develop a strategic, data-informed framework for prioritization using learning data and performance indicators.

• Incorporate data privacy protocols and AI ethics into the design process.

• Establish guardrails to reduce hallucinations and safeguard corporate intellectual property.

• Measure speed-to-market, cost efficiencies, and performance outcomes of learning architectures.

• Guide, mentor, and empower curriculum designers in integrating GenAI and agent-assisted tools.

• Convert functional plans into operational processes and oversee their execution.

• Provide advice and solve complex issues utilizing creativity, independent judgment, and tailored techniques.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree or four or more years of relevant work experience.

• A minimum of six years of pertinent experience, evidenced through work, military service, or specialized training.

• Current experience in HR and/or Learning & Development.

• At least three years of experience in a leadership role overseeing people.

• Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time.

• At least three years of experience in a leadership capacity managing instructional design and/or vendor sourcing teams.

• Experience in vendor management.

• Proficiency in using and guiding others to use AI tools, such as GenAI for drafting and agent-assisted practice labs.

• Strong skills in change management.

• High level of executive presence.

• Capability to balance speed and scale with instructional rigor while upholding safety and compliance standards.
