
Senior Manager, Infrastructure Workplace Services – Virtualization Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Spearhead organization-wide operational support for RTX’s virtual computing environments, which encompass VDI, engineering compute platforms, and virtualization infrastructure.
• Supervise a team dedicated to maintaining reliable, secure, scalable, and sustainable virtual platforms.
• Collaborate with technology and business teams to formulate strategies, roadmaps, standards, and best practices.
• Propel platform standardization and operational excellence.
• Enhance customer experience across virtualization operations.
• Oversee KPIs and assess solution supportability.
• Reinforce cross-platform capabilities and ensure consistent support throughout various domains.
• Cultivate partnerships with Enterprise Digital Technology and business organizations.
• Impact enterprise architecture and technology choices by evaluating solutions and articulating value.
• Guarantee high availability, security, scalability, and cost-effectiveness of virtual platforms.
• Foster team development through cross-training, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
• Facilitate business growth, new program onboarding, and emerging requirements with scalable operational processes.
• Refer to written work instructions for daily job functions.
• A University Degree or equivalent experience along with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with at least 7 years of experience.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with customers and senior leadership, ensuring deliverables are met and accountability for key milestones is maintained.
• Proven track record in leading and delivering dependable operational platforms in global production settings.
• Experience in supporting virtual desktop infrastructure within medium to large enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies and architectures spanning compute, network, storage, application, and automation layers.
• Experience in strategic planning, technology roadmapping, and implementing sustainable solutions in complex, 24/7 production environments.
• Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
• Capacity to collaborate with senior technical and business leaders.
• Proficiency in solving intricate problems, balancing competing priorities, and delivering practical, supportable solutions.
• Familiarity with UNIX/Linux/Solaris and/or Windows integration in medium to large-scale environments.
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms and operational models suitable for high-availability environments.
• Experience with enterprise storage technologies such as NetApp and PowerMax.
• Preferred: experience in promoting the adoption of cloud-based solutions and implementing use cases that provide measurable business value.
• Preferred: working knowledge of private, public, and hybrid cloud architectures, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, across AWS, Azure, Oracle, and similar platforms.
• Preferred: experience with VMware, Nutanix, and other virtualization technologies.
• Preferred: familiarity with hyperconverged infrastructure solutions.
• Preferred: understanding of networked storage platforms, including NetApp and PowerMax, within hyperconverged environments.
