Senior Manager, Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Direct daily operations of the datacenter, ensuring stability, reliability, and performance in physical environments.

• Supervise operational methodologies across hardware, networking, computing, and supporting infrastructure.

• Collaborate with Software Engineering, Cloud Engineering, and Architecture teams to maintain a dependable and scalable infrastructure.

• Ensure that infrastructure operations comply with SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 standards.

• Develop and enhance business continuity and disaster recovery strategies.

• Guide the transition from conventional datacenter operations to AWS-native cloud application engineering.

• Manage and operate AWS PaaS services that support NetDocuments SaaS applications.

• Establish cloud-native operational methodologies to enhance reliability, scalability, automation, and engineering efficiency.

• Set observability standards, including logging, monitoring, telemetry, and operational visibility.

• Lead and provide expertise for incident response teams.

• Mentor, guide, and support engineers through transitions in technical responsibilities and operational models.

• Create development plans, certification pathways, learning opportunities, and technical growth strategies.

• Forge trusted partnerships within the CTO organization and act as an operational liaison between Cloud Operations and product engineering teams.

• Assist in strategic planning, budgeting, capacity planning, and investment choices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 12 years of professional experience in cloud or infrastructure engineering and operations, ideally within a SaaS environment.

• At least 6 years of experience in people leadership, demonstrating success in guiding teams through significant changes in technical direction, capabilities, or operational models.

• Practical or operational experience with physical datacenter settings, including hardware lifecycle management, facilities, networking, and compute infrastructure.

• Familiarity with AWS PaaS services, such as ECS/Fargate, DocumentDB, MSK, Valkey, and SES.

• Experience working with both traditional infrastructure and public cloud environments.

• Proven experience in implementing automation and DevOps practices within production operations settings.

• Demonstrated project and change management experience in a multinational organization.

• Knowledge of strategic planning, budgeting, and financial oversight.

• Understanding of security and compliance frameworks, including SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001.
