Senior Manager, Global Procurement – Materials

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of cost structures and savings initiatives for global raw materials procurement.

• Develop monitoring frameworks to anticipate shifts in global markets, fluctuations in raw materials, currency risks, and macro-material trends.

• Create and implement live tracking systems for raw material pricing, currency shifts, and supply chain risks.

• Design and expand material-specific clean sheets to establish baseline component costs and facilitate Tier 1 negotiations.

• Assist in Buy Plan margin evaluations and guarantee transparent, competitive pricing from material suppliers.

• Analyze Tier 2 and Tier 3 vendor landscapes and formulate strategies for materials and vendors to streamline processes, ensure capacity, and enhance direct-to-mill purchasing power.

• Work collaboratively across functions to integrate upstream material availability into product design and development cycles.

• Plan and execute RFPs for raw material vendors, yarn spinners, mills, tanneries, and textile mills.

• Manage the complete bidding process from vendor outreach to award finalization.

• Negotiate cost-reduction agreements directly with Tier 2 material suppliers and standardize repeatable negotiation frameworks.

• Collaborate with Material Sourcing, Product Sourcing, and Tier 1 and Tier 2 vendors to incorporate material benefits into finished goods costing.

• Identify and implement value-creation opportunities, including vertical integration and volume consolidation.

• Report directly to the Head of Procurement.


⛳️ Requirements

• 12-15 years of experience in raw material sourcing, commodity procurement, or upstream supply chain management.

• Extensive knowledge of textile raw materials, including yarns, fibers, fabrics, leather, and related commodities.

• Proven experience negotiating directly with mills, tanneries, yarn spinners, and raw material vendors.

• Familiarity with commodity hedging frameworks and global market indices.

• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute material-specific clean sheets.

• Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities; proficient with large data sets.

• Technical proficiency in utilizing AI-powered platforms, such as LLMs, for scenario analysis and automating complex procurement tasks.

• Experience in upstream supply chain network design or consolidation is preferred.

• Background in collaborating cross-functionally with merchandising, sourcing, and production teams.

• Bachelor's degree is required.

• An MBA or advanced degree is advantageous.
