This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +2 more states.
• Report directly to the Vice President of Shared Services and Risk Management.
• Act as a vital resource for financial and contract management systems.
• Convert financial data into actionable insights that support strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate with Finance leadership to enhance reporting and analytics capabilities.
• Improve financial data structures, systems, and processes.
• Assist in the implementation, maintenance, and ongoing enhancement of Workday, Adaptive Planning, Agiloft, and related systems.
• Plan, test, and deploy system enhancements.
• Create custom reports and dashboards for Workday and Adaptive Planning.
• Ensure data integrity and refine financial system workflows.
• Collaborate with Business Applications and Finance stakeholders to evaluate and improve finance-related tools.
• Lead the evaluation of current platforms and formulate a long-term financial systems roadmap.
• Identify and implement sanctioned AI capabilities and system improvements.
• Document new processes and interdependencies between systems.
• Communicate business processes, technical considerations, benefits, and risks to Finance leadership.
• Collect requirements, troubleshoot issues, and propose solutions across various organizational levels.
• Design and implement organization-wide onboarding and refresher training for finance systems users.
• Develop training materials, job aids, and training modules.
• Participate in broader system-related initiatives and projects as assigned.
• A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business; relevant experience may be considered.
• Over 5 years of finance experience with ERP and budgeting/planning systems.
• Proficient in financial modeling using Workday Financials and other core financial functions.
• Comprehensive understanding of Finance principles, processes, and best practices.
• Familiarity with Workday Financials, specifically Core Financials, Accounts Payable, and Cash Management.
• Experience utilizing or administering Adaptive Insights or a similar financial planning tool, including reports, dashboards, and calculated fields.
• Proficient in Workday reporting, encompassing data structures, custom reports, dashboards, and calculated fields.
• Experience in analyzing and documenting business processes is an advantage.
• Exposure to additional Workday modules is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Ability to convert complex business requirements into actionable objectives.
• Strong analytical and communication abilities.
• Capacity to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
• A strong customer service orientation.
• Proven ability to lead and execute projects independently from inception to completion.
• Must reside within the DMV region or within a 50-mile radius of National Geographic headquarters.
• Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States.
