Senior Manager, Field Engineering – Telco

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Recruit, train, develop, and oversee a team of Solutions Architects for Databricks.

• Foster customer success and deliver significant business value through Databricks.

• Maintain a strong hiring pipeline.

• Build relationships across the organization to support both customers and the team.

• Collaborate with sales leadership to meet sales and consumption targets while ensuring customer satisfaction.

• Keep Solutions Architects up-to-date on the Data + AI technology stack through ongoing education.

• Lead technical pre-sales initiatives, including qualification, proofs of concept, architecture conversations, and product showcases.

• Influence and assess complex architectures, guiding teams and customers toward scalable solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in building and managing technical pre-sales teams, encompassing hiring, onboarding, coaching, and enabling pre-sales professionals.

• More than 7 years of experience in the Data + AI domain with a technical product, such as data warehousing, big data, data science, machine learning, or AI.

• Profound technical knowledge of the impact that Data + AI can have across various industry sectors.

• Technical expertise to gain the trust of engineering talent and leadership.

• Act as a trusted advisor to technical executives, guiding strategic decisions regarding data infrastructure.

• Experience in technical qualification, proofs of concept, architecture discussions, and product demonstrations.

• Proven track record in hiring, ramping up, promoting, and managing the performance of pre-sales professionals.

• Experience in nurturing relationships between Field Engineering, Sales, and internal partners.

• Familiarity with working alongside Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Success teams.

• Demonstrated ability to influence architectural decisions and review complex architectures.

• Must adhere to applicable U.S. export-control regulations; the employer may opt not to proceed if a government license is not sought or obtained.
