This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and implement an Enterprise Cyber Defense strategy, operating model, and roadmap that align with business risks, the threat landscape, and Information Security priorities.
• Create and lead a high-performing global cyber defense team comprising employees, contractors, and strategic service providers.
• Establish and enhance a threat-informed detection engineering lifecycle.
• Direct the cyber response to emerging and unconventional risk scenarios, as well as evolving threats.
• Spearhead the agentic SOC and security automation strategy utilizing AI-assisted triage and investigation, ensuring human-in-the-loop controls are in place.
• Set up proactive threat hunting and adversary-validation capabilities.
• Oversee the cyber readiness program, which includes tabletop exercises, technical response simulations, playbook validation, escalation testing, and readiness assessments.
• Provide oversight and incident command during high-severity cyber incidents.
• Coordinate incident response efforts across Security, IT, Privacy, Legal, business teams, and external partners.
• Convert lessons learned into improved detection, automation, controls, and response practices.
• Define strategy, architecture, integration, and optimization priorities for cyber defense platforms and telemetry.
• Establish and report on cyber defense KPIs and KRIs that measure detection coverage, response performance, false-positive reduction, automation and AI-agent performance, readiness, and risk reduction.
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Over 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT, or engineering.
• At least 5 years focused on cyber defense, detection and response, or incident response.
• Demonstrated success in building, transforming, or scaling enterprise cyber defense capabilities.
• Extensive experience in detection engineering, incident response, and threat-informed defense.
• Strong understanding of SIEM, SOAR, XDR, EPP, NDR, email security, identity telemetry, and cloud security.
• In-depth knowledge of adversary behaviors, threat hunting, incident response, and detection methodologies.
• Practical experience with frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK.
• Experience with red/purple teaming or cyber readiness exercises is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with applying automation, AI, or machine-learning capabilities in security operations.
• Capability to evaluate automated outputs, define performance metrics, and maintain human oversight for security decisions.
• Ability to lead during high-severity incidents and in uncertain situations.
• Proficient in communicating technical risks to executives and non-technical stakeholders.
• Skilled at driving cross-functional teams toward timely decisions and outcomes.
• Strong background in leading globally distributed technical teams and service providers.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, or other relevant cyber defense certifications are a plus.
• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with over 13 years of industry experience.
