Senior Manager, Electrical Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Assist with innovation initiatives.

• Keep company design standards current and up to date.

• Direct, coordinate, and manage project-specific design tasks aimed at cost-effective and energy-efficient data center facilities.

• Serve as the subject matter expert on concurrently maintainable electrical power systems for data centers.

• Provide support to the Director of Electrical Engineering and the Innovation and Engineering team.

• Oversee the preparation and final approval of project contract documents created by third-party design consultants.

• Ensure that project designs are delivered on time and within budget.

• Offer engineering expertise and guidance on projects, operations, and systems within current facilities.

• Develop and maintain specifications for owner-furnished and contractor-installed equipment and systems.

• Aid procurement through vendor submittal reviews, approvals, and factory witness testing.

• Keep legacy basis-of-design documents updated.

• Assist in the creation of new basis-of-design documents to address emerging business needs.

• Identify, recommend, and implement technologies and systems to enhance data center energy and cost efficiency.

• Communicate and enforce engineering and design policies, practices, standards, and security protocols.

• Stay informed about emerging engineering and design technologies and trends.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.

• At least 7 years of experience in the design of data centers and specification of electrical equipment for mission-critical facilities.

• Proficiency in diesel engine standby generators.

• Proficiency in uninterruptible power supplies.

• Comprehensive understanding of designing a concurrently maintainable facility.

• Engineering in Training (EIT) certification is preferred, with progress toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.

• Skilled in MS Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint.

• Basic proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Adobe Acrobat.

• Must be eligible to work in the United States.

• Must pass a comprehensive background screening.

• Domestic travel may be required up to 30%.
