This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the @verity/ui component library as a versioned package built using accessible headless primitives and design tokens.
• Develop and sustain the @verity/tokens pipeline, transitioning DTCG design tokens through Style Dictionary, CSS custom properties, and typed output.
• Establish a code-to-Figma token workflow leveraging Figma Variables, staging files, and review practices to avert silent design drift.
• Craft Code Connect mappings so that Figma Dev Mode and coding agents produce authentic @verity/ui components instead of generic markup.
• Outline the AI-ready system surface, encompassing MCP context, component manifests, registries, repo guidance, and agent evaluation workflows.
• Enhance CI quality gates for accessibility, visual regression, app-level regression, linting, and code ownership.
• Oversee release discipline through Changesets, semantic versioning, API contract checks, and migration-ready codemods.
• Collaborate with designers and product teams on Figma conventions, adoption, governance, promotion, and deprecation workflows.
• Assist in developing Verity Canvas, a code-canonical design system for healthcare software, during the transition from Angular to React.
• At least 5+ years of experience in building front-end systems, design systems, or component libraries utilizing React and TypeScript.
• Experience in designing typed component APIs and delivering a design system as a published package utilized by other teams.
• Practical experience with Figma Dev Mode, variables, and Code Connect, or similar design-to-code workflows.
• Skilled in constructing design token pipelines using DTCG formats and tools like Style Dictionary or Tokens Studio.
• Strong knowledge of accessibility, including ARIA, keyboard interaction, focus management, and automated checks such as axe.
• Familiarity with Storybook, visual regression testing, CI/CD, modern Git workflows, and package management in monorepos.
• Reliable home internet connection, if working remotely, via cable broadband or fiber optic service with a minimum of 10Mbps download and 5Mbps upload speeds.
• Preferred: Experience with Base UI, Radix, React Aria, Ariakit, or similar headless primitive libraries.
• Preferred: Experience with pnpm workspaces, Turborepo, Changesets, semver, API Extractor, or type-aware codemods.
• Preferred: Familiarity with AI-native development workflows, MCP tooling, coding agents, registries, or agent evaluation harnesses.
• Preferred: Experience pushing tokens from code into Figma or utilizing the Figma Variables REST API.
• Preferred: Background in healthcare, regulated environments, or products where accessibility and precision are crucial.
• Eligibility for an annual bonus plan.
