This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, develop, and sustain data integrations across various enterprise systems, platforms, and repositories.
• Create and uphold metadata pipelines, automated workflows, and API-based data exchanges that facilitate system interoperability.
• Merge source system metadata with enterprise data catalogs and governance platforms.
• Craft and manage data models, including schemas, relationships, and metadata, that enhance enterprise data governance capabilities such as data classification and lineage.
• Outline entity relationship diagrams and data flows that represent relationships, transformations, and dependencies among business tools.
• Detect, investigate, and address data quality, consistency, integration, and interoperability challenges.
• Maintain documentation for system integrations, data flows, metadata models, and technical processes.
• Collaborate with the Power Platform Developer to incorporate data models, metadata, and governance requirements into technical solutions.
• Work in partnership with data stewards, analysts, system owners, developers, and governance stakeholders to translate business and data governance needs into technical solutions.
• Take independent ownership of technical workstreams from problem identification and requirements gathering through solution design, implementation, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation.
• Manage tasks independently from requirements through implementation.
• Proactively tackle challenges with minimal supervision.
• Collaborate with specialists in the Energy, Resilience, and Sustainability Division to deliver energy and sustainability consulting services to the federal government.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• 5-8 years of experience in systems engineering, data integration, data management, IT systems support, or data platform administration.
• Capability to independently translate requirements into technical solutions through implementation.
• Ability to independently identify and resolve technical challenges with minimal oversight.
• Proficient knowledge of SQL, relational databases, data modeling, and database relationships.
• Experience in designing, developing, implementing, or maintaining system integration or data pipelines.
• Familiarity with cloud-based platforms (preferably Azure).
• Exposure to APIs and structured data formats (JSON/XML).
• Experience in documenting systems, workflows, or technical processes.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple ongoing projects.
• Capability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Common Access Card (CAC).
• Ability to acquire and hold a US Government Secret Security Clearance (Secret or higher).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Capacity to work across both technical and business teams.
• Excellent written documentation skills.
• Ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Capability to independently manage technical workstreams in a collaborative environment.
• Preferred: Active Secret Security Clearance.
• Preferred: Experience working with Department of War or Federal Government enterprise systems, data platforms, or integration environments.
• Preferred: Experience in operationalizing data governance initiatives through metadata management, data cataloging, system integration, data quality, or technical workflows.
• Preferred: Experience with enterprise data catalogs (e.g., Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Alation).
• Preferred: Familiarity with data quality tools or metadata management platforms.
• Preferred: Experience in developing or implementing metadata or database models, data inventories, data catalogs, or governance workflows.
• Preferred: Experience in creating entity relationship diagrams (ERDs) for database management.
• Preferred: Experience with Microsoft Dataverse, Power Platform, or similar low-code application/data platforms.
• Preferred: Experience integrating data from diverse enterprise systems, databases, APIs, files, or other structured data sources.
• Preferred: Experience in government, defense, utilities, or regulated environments.
• Preferred: Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900).
• Preferred: Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Fundamentals (DP-900).
• Preferred: Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900).
